Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to The Democratic National Convention to the European club and festival scenes. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta Her roots lie situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as musician through playing guitar and singing in church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B entertainment scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You A house 12 released exclusively in Japan; it has since been remixed by a variety of artists and is an integral part in her live show. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who performed on stage in the production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the director of choral for the production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention in the course of four consecutive performances at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
